The UK Cloud Awards showcases vendors, customers and IT leaders who are setting trends, making a difference and inspiring others to succeed in the Technology Industry.
They were established to recognise innovation and excellence in the cloud industry and has been running for 6 years now. It has grown overtime with new organisations joining the forum and has become a great way to connect with other technology organisations, get to know the competition and find new opportunities.
The ceremony took place on Thursday 16th May 2019 at County Hall, Southbank. A fantastic and easy to get to location, it was very prestigious and a good capacity for those who attended.
7 PM – Networking
The event started with a networking, talking to judges, partners and competitors. It was great to see everyone at the event. Everyone was buzzing with nerves/excitement. We also got to try the VR gaming experience, which was super cool. To see how technology has advanced so rapidly, especially with the gaming industry.
8PM – UK Cloud Awards Ceremony
The awards ceremony officially began at 8PM. Everyone made their way to the auditorium. There were 17 awards to get through, from Best in Class Cloud Products to personal achievement awards. We entered in two categories, ‘’Cloud Visionary of the Year’’ and ‘’Best Cloud Service Provider of the Year’’. These two categories were the best fit for our business; as we focus on moving businesses to the Cloud and digitally transforming their business with the best in class Microsoft solution
We are super proud to announce that our entry for Chris Dunning won the ‘Cloud Visionary of the Year’ award. It’s was a complete shock as we were finalist to ‘Best Cloud Service Provider’, and this was the final award of the night. We want to say a big thank to the judges for selecting us. We also want to thank our customers for providing testimonials for our entry as well as supporting recommendations from partners. We cannot thank you enough. Overall it was a fantastic event and will be entering next year too.
The judges kindly said the following about our entry as they were announcing it: “Where to start with this final category? So many strong entries and many potential worthy winners. The winner this year had no less than 9 separate testimonials. These all backed up a story of cultural change, introducing and using new technologies to keep pace with this rapidly evolving market. Loads of evidence of thought leadership, mentorship and accreditations galore. The entry clearly demonstrated real benefits to their customers and what high regard they have for him. I will close with a quote from a fellow judge: “If Carlsberg did award entries….!!”
Raising Money For Sick Childrens Trust
One of the best bits of the UK Cloud Awards is how it helped raise funds for The Sick Children’s Trust. They were raffle ticket fundraising offering a huge prize at the end so there were many people that entered to help contribute to this great cause.
The founder of The Sick Children’s Trust gave a warm speech about the charity’s missions and aims. The trust believes keeping families together significantly improves the recovery of seriously ill children. They provide free, high-quality ‘Home from Home’ accommodation, as well as emotional and practical support, to families with sick children in hospital in the UK.
She also showed us a recent case study video on how much impact a charity like this can have on just one family. It was eye-opening and nice to see so many organisation giving back. To donate or learn more, click here.
